Hi friends!
I couldn't let this day slip by without wishing you a very
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
It's an important day to my family,
though this year none of us could get together.
And whew do I ever miss my father today!
Thought I'd put together a little tea-for-one
and gather some of my more favorite Irish-themed
things to make a tea vignette with my twin Adderly teacups.
I used to have a fairly large collection of shamrock
teacups, but I have since sold or gifted most of them.
I cannot even begin to tell you how many proper
St. Patrick's Afternoon Tea Parties
I have had to cancel due to snow storms.
(It's entirely too much work to do to have to then cancel.)
So I stopped having them some years ago.
And of course today is in the 70s.
Not complaining, but still!
Last week we had a huge snow storm.
Life in mid-Ohio is not boring!
I made a cinnamon coffee cake and in my excitement putting this together forgot about the cake. Oops.
I received three wonderful cards (above) this year.
Thank you Marina, Ginny and Mary Beth.
They help things look and feel so festive.
♣
And I can't close without sharing a pic of my grand girl
with her smiling Irish eyes (and her two new teeth!)
I think she may have just quit Irish dancing for this pic her momma too, because her hands are still in fists.
Sure hope one day soon she may begin lessons.
God love her, she watches the videos
and tries to self teach. Precious.
A world of wishes at your command.
God and his angels close to hand.
Friends and family their love impart,
And Irish blessings in your heart!
As always, thank you for your visit!

Awww...she is so darling and is growing so tall! Your teas are something to be cherished and I thank you for sharing this one with us. I'm a little bit Irish...probably not worthy of a tea, but I have enjoyed it all the same. Happy St. Patrick's Day ☘️
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post. I have given all of my Shamrock collection to my daughters. I did it when we moved and while I miss it, I know that they enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteYour grandgirl is darling and I hope she can take some Irish dance lessons, too. xo Diana
She's just adorable, Michele, love her little Irish outfit! Your shamrock cups are so sweet. I love my afternoon tea each day. I need to try the Irish Breakfast tea. It was almost 80 here today, but cold again this weekend. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteMichele your sweet granddaughter is just adorable. The shamrock tea cups are so pretty. Have a great Friday and wonderful weekend. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute!! Happy st patrick day. I adore your cup and saucer. I still have the shamrock you sent me that says welcome to our irish cottage. I have it hanging in my craft room all year long.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated St. Patrick's Day, from one Irish lass to another. Your granddaughter is absolutely a darling!
ReplyDeleteThat GrandGirl of yours is adorable Michele - thank her for sharing that beautiful smile with us! :) And thanks to you for sharing your tea. Too bad I can't fly out there for some coffee cake - and a few Irish tunes on the piano! Hope your day and your memories were wonderful my friend!
ReplyDeleteHello Friend
ReplyDeleteBiggest hugs as you missed your dad on such a fun and special day to you and your family. I love your St. Paddy's tea cup...so pretty. Your weather sounds a lot like here in northern WI too. Lol And your granddaughter is such a Doll! Have a blessed weekend ahead.
Hi Michele,
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to see a post from you!! Your vignette is so pretty, and I love your Adderly teacups. My husband and I have some Irish in our ancestry, as well. I meant to set an "Irish" table this year but didn't get around to it. Your granddaughter is so, so pretty, Michele! I bet she'll be the best Irish dancer around. :) I hope you have a lovely weekend!
Hugs,
Denise
Your St. Patrick’s Day tea for one is so special, Michele. However, the sweetest of all is your little Irish lass granddaughter. How cute that she watches videos to teach herself Irish dancing. She is darling! ☘️💚☘️
ReplyDeleteYour St. Patrick's Day tea sounded wonderful! Your grand is adorable.
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter is precious! Loved your shamrock teacup. I didn't use any of my china shamrock cups this year - opted for the clear glass emerald green cups and saucers instead. It was just my hubby and I celebrating at home this year, but I am having four ladies over for a tea luncheon on Tuesday. Rain is in the forecast!
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming tea time! I usually celebrate St. Patrick's Day by drinking green tea. LOL. I would love to add a shamrock cup to my collection!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteMichele, you are so right about a tea party being too much work to do to then have to cancel! Save your shamrock pretties (which, to me, have a cool and refreshing look) for a tea party on a warm summer day.
