Welcome to my Spring Home Tour!
(Pic heavy warning!)
I'm excited to show you a few samplings of some
spring decorating around our nest.
where spring has sprung!
Still being winter weather here,
our front door entryway urns are still empty.
Hopefully it won't be much longer a wait to fill them!
Won't you please come out of the cold
and sit with me a spell?
I have really missed you!
A artisan stone bunny and some spring branch blooms
await you on the table in the foyer.
You will find all sorts of bunnies, nests with eggs,
birds and butterflies tucked around here in our home.
I like decorating with a relaxed earthy nature vibe.
But you already knew that, didn't you?
In early spring you will nearly always find
some white tulips here in the house somewhere;
they're my go-to favorite flower
till the pink peonies bloom.
See them tucked way in the distance
in a small old ironstone pitcher?

Here on my antique table is my beloved bunny candy dish.
It should have mini Cadbury eggs inside,
but I can't seem to stop emptying it.
Hello, my name is Michele, and I am an eggaholic.
Our mantle is kept tidy and simple.
The forsythia branches give us a happy touch of color.
My hubs planted two bushes of them in the back tree-lined
area of our backyard. They've gotten so big that
they can give up some branches now and then!
But some of the faux ones look so real now
that it's difficult to tell the difference!
On the shelf under my little hand painted side table
is a chippy glass terrarium lidded box
happily featuring nature's season.
Here are some real pussy willow branches...
that I have had to hot glue gun the furry bits back on.
Once they dry out they're meant to fall to the ground,
so it requires the "hotness"to keep it all together.
Here we also feature a perfect REAL bird's nest
found dropped out of a tree a few years ago.
Its engineering is stunning.
Having 8 fingers and two thumbs
I could never attempt make anything such as that!
We recently moved our wine rack
from the dining room into the living room
I really love it here - found we're using it much more
as a "drink station" now that it is more accessible!
This "suitcase" that this wooded nest is sitting upon
is actually a faux box - and it's actually a pull-out drawer!
Inside we keep our bar accessories:
wine corkscrew, church key, swizzles, wine glass identifiers, etc.
I like that it is now all neatly kept in this "self-serve" bar area.
In my quest to purge clutter, organize
and make sense of what we own,
I am attempting to keep only things
functional, used and loved.
(At least for things I am in control of managing.)
It's brutal to do it - but it is making a big difference!
I find it is getting easier and easier each effort I make!

Michele, Love the header! Your home looks so lovely, light and airy and everything I would love mine to be. You have such lovely vignettes and accessories. Love the bunny and I have the same problem, mine keep emptying. Great idea for keeping bar supplies in the “suitcase box” where everything is stored but handy. Such a beautiful home, thanks for the tour. Happy Easter.......
