The Gift of Christmas Baking!

I have been baking my head off this week -
and thought I'd share what I am giving friends,
 neighbors and family.

I *always* make decorated sugar cookies and Russian Snow Balls.
Those are my two standard staple cookies for sure.

I love love love the smell of ginger cookies baking.

One of these days I intend on mastering the art of decorating with royal icing.

Practice, practice, practice, right?

I made a bajillion each of : decorated cut-out cookies,
snow balls, chocolate peanut crunch balls,
amd Oreo snowmen truffles.

(My daughter made the chocolate one with candy cane on top.)

Some of these were quite labor intensive to make,
but I had lots of fun doing so.

But it sure helps me get into the spirit of the season.

All of our pretty snow is gone now.

We won't be having a white Christmas after all. :-(

I think our last snow storm just came in too early!

Here is my post on the last snowfall if you missed here.

Here is where I found the recipe for those cute snowmen truffles.

And they're perfect alone as a tiny token to give someone.

It is especially well-received when in its own wee gift box
tied up with string.

Merry Christmas!

As always, thank you so much for your visit!

~Michele

If you missed my last post: I shared the cute pics
of my first grand daughter sitting on Santa's lap here.
She is just too sweet!

  1. Busy woman, I also make the cut out cookies and I'm pretty lazy about frosting them so they all look pretty much the same. Cute snowmen cookies. Have a very Merry Christmas to you and your family.

  2. Look so yummy - I've finished my baking and I even tried some piping of the frosting this year - it worked out pretty well once I figured out how to keep from running my hand or the bag back across the piped frosting.

  4. When my first batch of cookies this week failed, I lost all will to live and bake any more. Now I am down to Christmas Eve day and I must do some baking asap.

Your cookies are so pretty! You mean you haven't mastered something? I can not tell; they all look fantastic. Love the little snowmen and I would want an entire herd. =D

Merry Christmas, Michele, to you and all your family.

  6. Oh! Those look so good. I LOVE a good frosted sugar cookie! My "signature" cookie is Ginger Dreams- my grandmother always made them, too. They are quite heavy with spices and then topped with a buttercream frosting with a walnut or pecan in the center and then sprinkled with nutmeg. My mouth is watering just writing about them....lol.... That snowman is just darling! Happy Christmas Eve day! xo Diana

  9. Michele, you and I really, REALLY should be neighbors, because mastering the art of making royal icing is on my bucket list as well! Your cookies are beautiful as-is, though, and I'm sure they are delicious. That little snowman treat in the single box is absolutely adorable. (Just typed "adorbs," which I'm pretty sure I've never said in my LIFE. Did I get that fun word from you?) Anyway, just wanted to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas!
