Beach Themed Tablescape



Revisiting a favorite beachy tablescape today
 in honor of it being nearly summer time!











Oceans, lakes, sand, boats, sunning, surfing, swimming....

coconut oil, citronella, barbeque, pineapple drinks, fresh air....

waves, children playing, calypso steel drums....












....the many sights, sounds and scents
and the joys of the summer season....













And there isn't quite anything as pleasant to me 
as casual dining in relaxed leisure
with family or friends.












I grew up on the tip of a peninsula on Lake Erie 
in a resort and fishing/boating vacation area.

Memorial Day has always been
 the real true beginning of summer to us.













So even though we haven't reached yet the Summer Solstice
(isn't until Father's Day- June 21st -  around lunchtime) ...


...it's hot, it's sunny, the spring flowers are spent
and the trees are full-on leafy.


To me and mine, let summer begin!

    wow what an amazing place to grow up! I don't understand what goes on with blogger either, it seems less and less reliable. Maybe they have more than they can handle. I hope you have a wonderful summer--looks like you are ready. Its in upper 80s and humid here so I guess summer has arrived. I like that you have colored for a long time! Thanks for commenting!

    I actually live in a coastal village near the beach so your tablescape was a real joy. It is still a little cold here not quite summer but I can wait.

    Oh, how wonderful impressions are in your beautiful photos and in your words!
    Your decorations and dishes are so pretty!
    I also wait for the summer - the long, warm evenings, picknicks on the beach, swimming in the sea,

    Your table is very pretty. I love doing a beach theme in our home in summer. Our big plan is for our nephew's wedding in Ontario and we will take a side trip to Niagara Falls. Looking forward to that! Have a wonderful weekend Michele.

    I'm all for that Michele! Your table setting is so lovely and perfect for this season! So pretty and I love the burlap runner! You grew up in such a gorgeous place! I would be so scared to have all that water around me, as you know I live in Idaho and we are a little land-locked here :)))

    I totally love your beach themed table scape! I have been working very hard to get ready for summer, it's already here in AZ! I just completed a back yard mural by my pool (on the blog) because I've always dreamed of owning a seaside cottage. In real life that probably won't happen so I created one as best I could in my own desert back yard! Enjoy all that summer holds! Blessings, Cindy

    Sounds like a great place to grow up. Those Great Lakes can be cold to swim in though! I can barely get into Lake Huron when we go. But the beach is wonderful!!

    I love this upbeat and happy post, dear Michele...we've had so much cloudy skies and rain, summertime is hanging back a little here. We have a few more days of rain in the forecast but once that sun shines bright for a few days, we will be ready for SUMMERTIME. Can't wait.

    Very pretty and so relaxing with those calming blues. I can imagine that growing up where you did was wonderful! I know this, the Great Lakes rival the ocean (except for the wonderful scent of the ocean). So put on your music with the beach noises, gulls included, and have a delightful time.     This is nice Michele, are those big shells actual chargers? I love it when someone goes the distance to make a table special with a theme and as you've indicated, what could be nicer than the beach for summer.
    No trip for me this summer but then I like to be home around my gardens and sitting by the pond.

    Blue and white is perfect for summer! We don't have beach for miles and miles, but I love a beachy theme. I'm sure it's lovely for you to have so many pleasant water activities in summer.     Such a gentle soothing theme for your tablescape! So wonderful to celebrate the beginning of summer isn't it! Your pictures bring to mind gentle soothing waves lapping against the seashore, a sound I long to hear, as I too grew up in an island area, and I miss the salt water here where I live in North Idaho! Your pictures transported me to memories of a wonderful childhood too! May you continue to enjoy the beautiful sights, smells, and sounds of summer :)

    LOVE your beachy tablescape! In fact, I'm saving this to my Pinterest folder where I keep ideas for a cozy mystery I plan to write after I finish the one in progress. My character lives on the coast, and decorating is very important to her. Thanks for the visuals!
