My little town has a City Festival
always held the weekend before July 4th -
so we had our fireworks here last Saturday.
It rained all day but cleared at around 9:30 pm -
so my husband and my eldest niece climbed on the roof
and watched them perfectly in style.
Yes.
They are very high on our rooftop.
I noticed my husband had a bit of a grimmace on his face -
justifiably worried, I can imagine.
Note that he is holding onto her quite tightly.
I laughed when I saw that and asked if they were ok
and they answered me
"Heck, yeah, this is great!"
Here is that pic just seconds later:
I wasn't interested in falling and breaking
my chubby neck so I read blogs instead, heh heh.

We USED to be able to watch from the deck
but our trees have gotten too tall in the years we've been here.
I loved sitting with a cold drink in my hand watching them ten years ago.
But I gladly give that up for having so much more privacy now!
I should write a post about the before and after tree plantings.
But gotta run - got a date to go to the movies with my big dork.
Gotta love a fella that is so cool he climbs on roofs to watch fireworks-
and wears his groovy straw hat he got for father's day when he DOES.
(Yes, he is MY kind of dork for sure.)
PS:
Judith from Lavender Cottage asked below in the comments
if my husband reads my blogs.
FYI - I DID get his blessing before I hit "publish."
He is a self-proclaimed dork - which really makes him NOT one.
But it is a fun term of endearment around here. : - )
You all have fun today!
But be extra careful on those roofs!

How fun, I love it. They look so cute on the roof. Have a super day and enjoy the movie. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHahaha...they look pretty cute up there! Sure you shouldn't have joined them? Trees. Now there's a topic of conversation.
ReplyDeleteLOL looks like they are enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteThis post is hilarious! I'm such a klutz, I would fall off the roof!
ReplyDeleteHappy Fourth!

RJ
Hi Michele,
ReplyDeleteThat is too cute! It makes me smile!
Thanks for sharing!
Karen
Michele, this is funny. Your poor husband, does he read your blog? LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th of July to you.
Judith
We used to get on my parent's roof to watch the fireworks from the nearby park. I don't think I would go up now. Happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteHi Michele! Cute snaps! Well, we've been on our garage rooftop before to watch the fireworks. Now I'd love for you to snap for me any time. Think about it! ;)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Excellent! I want to go sit on the roof to take sunset pics, but my Hubs won't let me!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Love it. Not sure I'd go up there either, but it's got to be a great spot! :)
ReplyDeleteKaren
What a lovely post! Lots of love between the lines Michele!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very fun time! XO Mary
ReplyDeleteI think your sweet dork's idea was brilliant! And here, we are celebrating July 4 on July 13. Doesn't quite have the same ring to it, does it?
ReplyDeleteAll hail the dorks! This is so cute, and funny, and sweet. I always ask my dork if it's ok before I publish too if it's about him :)
