Red Teatime in the Garden

Oh, finally a pretty spring day here!

It's a bright and cheerful day
and perfect for my first teatime outdoors!

My Royal Albert red roses tea today is inspired
by two wonderful gifts  from my husband
 for Mother's Day:

A red Gerbera potted daisy plant and raspberry cheesecake!

From there I grabbed a straw hat
 that I embellished last year
with red flowers and a pretty red toile ribbon.

I just had to grab a pretty red roses sugar cube.

(Though I've shown you them before.)

I absolutely adore fancy sugar cubes
and almost always have them on hand
in all sorts of different designs and colours.

It's nice to keep pretty things around,
as we never know who may pop over for tea!

It looks right and happily situated on my golden fork.

I normally don't sweeten my teas so it's there for show only.

It sure is nice that the cold rain finally stopped
and I could come outside to enjoy tea time today.

The garden is coming to life again- the purple phlox is blooming.

I missed the yellow and purple iris because it bloomed then rained for three days, and now it all spent before I could share.

But rain is a blessing, and necessary, so I shan't complain.

Yes, it all started with a sweet red Gerbera daisy plant,
sitting on an old thrift store wicker table
with a lush green background on a pretty spring day.

Thanks for joining me for tea today.

  2. Such a lovely post Michele! My mother-in-law's wedding china is Royal Albert. I have only seen it when she opens the cupboard above the fridge. It makes me so sad that it is hidden away like that. It brings a smile to my face to see yours being used! And I have a hat like that...I need to embellish mine :-) All you need is Mr. B's favorite tea, Red Rose of course!! Here's to warm days and sunshine!!

  9. Michelle: Your post is perfect.
This is so lovely - I hope you will be linking with Tea In The Garden. I lost all my favorites links last week when I switched to http:blog.bernideens.com/ We never understood what happened but they were suddenly gone.
It was awful as I had to rely on my memory to put them back and I am still remembering some as I go along.

  24. Love these photos! Now I've never been too much of a red fan, but somehow you have "softened" the color for me by the way you displayed everything and tied it all together. How'd ya do that? Oh well, thanks! I'm so inspired when I see pretty things in a new way!
