Easter Baskets at The Emporium!

Well it sure is nice to be back!

I really missed you all.

Thank you so  much all for your sweetest notes

 and comments about our family's loss.

The funeral went beautifully well -

 so many people came to pay their last respects -

 he was truly a remarkable and well loved man!

I have just enough time today to share

Palm Sunday - Devotional

Many people spread their cloaks on the road,

and others spread leafy palm branches

Almost Easter!

It's just a little over a week till Easter!

How is this even possible - 
especially with SNOW coming again soon?!?

Unfortunately my husband just lost

 his beloved godfather/uncle - 

and we're heading out of state

 for all the sad business of saying good-bye.

So until I'm back I am simply sharing

a cute whimsical Easter Bunny teapot.


Isn't his little wee pink nose adorable?

Silly Kitty!

We have a LOT going on here at this nest lately.

This week we had new house windows installed -

and soon we're going to elevate a "sunken" music room floor.....

In order to get that done first the piano (huge 7 foot grand)

 had to be moved this week as well!

BUSY BUSY BUSY!

So....before the floor can be elevated, before the new flooring is installed...there was a matter of a heaping GOB of precious china

that had to be wrapped....and stored -

 in order for us to be able to move the

 antique china CABINET!

So, my youngest came over

 and helped me wrap & pack it all 

in bubble wrap for safe keeping!

We drank coffee, we caught up, we giggled..........

and we even got a little "help" from Romeo the Kitty!

Hubs came home from work just as this happened

and captured it on film....

he hoped my blogger readers would find it funny, too.

So here is Romeo in all his 2 seconds of

being the UnHelper Kitteh that he is know to be!

Happy First Day of Spring!

Well the sun is out and the skies are brighter...finally!

One more day of grey blustery cold and rain

 and I think I would have packed my bags

and left our nest for good!

The sun came just in time....however.....it is still quite COLD!

Most of the snow has melted and nothing looks like it wants to bloom yet.

So I am sharing a daffodil pic  I took from our garden last year-

to pretend it is warmer and more spring-like weather!

I treasure every single one;

So many springtime flowers 

Open up to the brilliant sun 

Many things this time of year

Give my heart a thrill;

It’s the time of year I love the most

Easter Stirrings & Spring Giveaway!

St. Patrick's is a fond memory now

 and it is time to put away the shamrocks and

"spring forward" here at the nest.

Mr. FR has been kindly bringing me up my spring decor boxes

 and slowly but surely things are getting its touch.

 I just love candy-coated solid chocolate Cadbury mini eggs!

And they look so cute tucked inside a old egg cup!

Egg candles on a sweet little stoneware plate

is simply spring!

Cute Pink Cloissone Pig!

Isn't he just the cutest. thing. ever?!?

OMG - just look at his sweet face!

Everytime I look at it I smile.

I've had him a long long time.

I got lucky when I found him at an antiques auction.

I think his best part is his curlieque tail!

The Irish Pig Jig

One Irish spring morn,

a wee leprechaun

saw a little pink pig

a-dancing a jig.

Its trotters were

flying all over the place.

Leprechaun cried

“Pig, you are a disgrace.”

“I’m full of the whisky,

that’s why I’m so frisky,”

cried Pig, with a shout

as it fell on its snout.

The folks came a-trotting

to see what was what-ing,

to gaze on the sight

of the pig who was tight.

They proceeded to pick up

that pig with the hiccup.

They took it away

and late that same day,

they dined on some Spam

and lots of boiled ham

then washed it all down

with a drop of the ‘brown’.

The leprechaun

went back home to his dell

and took with him

lots of boiled bacon, as well.

So, pink pigs take warning,

who drink in the morning,

if you want to get tight,

drink your whisky…...at night!
