HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY,
Here's hoping you have pink balloons, pink cake & all sorts of wonderful pink goodies galore!
Thank you for hosting a wonderful linky party!
BECAUSE WE ALL SURE DO ♥ OUR PINK!
Here is a simple but lovely pink peony "gift" and poem
taken and written by me in my garden for you, Beverly, on this special occasion!
Oh Gentle Peony
~by Michele M. / FinchRest.com~
So soft and gently fragrant, a peony
So welcome and lush and loved!
Opening from a swollen pod, so many lovely petals
Becomes as the tender face of a child.
Hold off, oh powerful rains that fill this flower!
As the last of the raindrops hit the ground,
So does our mop-headed beauty.
As swiftly she has come to awe the garden, she vanishes.
Her magnificent beauty faded for yet another year.
Oh Michelle, Peonies are my most favourite flower in the world. They are so graceful, elegant and remind me of ballerinas with those fluffy petals. I cannot grow them here because it is too warm for them but I live for November/December when we have a massive surgence of them at all the florist shops.

What a wonderful share, Peonies are oh so gorgeous! The poem matches the beauty of the flower, too.

Michele I've been wondering for awhile now if you wrote poetry. You've sent me some before but I didn't realize you wrote it. Duh where have I been! What a beautiful talent you possess. I hope you are going to put it in book form with all your gorgeous photos. I'll buy your first copy!! And please do inscribe it:D What a glorius gift to give to Beverly. I know she will treaure it as I do the lovely teacup arrangement you sent me. You are a true and gracious friend to all. That in itself is a rare gift.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs dear friend,
Nann
PS I just got a message from another blogger who too has not been getting my posts by email and vice versa. Something is really strange. Sometimes we do and sometimes we don't. I think there must be a glitch in the blog network system. I wonder if it would make a difference if I contact them. Its weird. Just thought I'd let you know.

What a beautiful poem for one of the most beautiful flowers ever!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, Michele! I admire anyone with the talent to write poetry. That was soooo difficult for me in school. Your poem is lovely and so is the pink peony. Have a fun and safe weekend!------ Shannon
ReplyDeleteOh Wow Michele, who knew you were such a poet. Love, love the poem and the gorgeous bloom. It rained hard here today. I was so afraid that all of Peony petals would be on the ground. Guess what? They survived and the sun has come out to play.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jann
What a sweet poem and beautiful peony! Peonies always remind me of my Mom - she loved them so. Happy Pink Saturday, Michele!
