I have been trying to decide on what to wear, and am considering this 2 piece dress, hat and gloves outfit. It is one of my favorite dresses. And oh, how I love to wear hats and gloves! (I do it every time the occassion arises!)
This year's program is on The History of Hats. The hospitality/decorating committee borrowed 12 of my hat boxes to decorate our dining tables there.
I have had a number of inquiries from friends in the club who wish to borrow my hats to wear to the function. I am happy to oblige. It is always nice not being the ONLY one wearing a hat now and then!
I honestly think I am living in the wrong era. I feel much more myself dressed for a proper tea than I ever do in denim jeans. I am weird, I know, but it's true.
With the Kentucky Derby Horse Races coming up, it is a fine time to share a favorite pink hat with "y'all."
HAPPY PINK SATURDAY, EVERYONE!

What a beautiful outfit! Your not old fashioned just an old soul. Personally I say make your own fashion statement..if ya like hats wear em more often watch how many do the same. And, It seems this year the 60/70 handkerchief tops and blousy tops with a princess waist in florals with lacy accents and American Indian patterns are back...remember peasant dresses and the Tent Dress! I've seen them in the fashion mags!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I think it is perfect for tea. So pretty and feminine.

That is a beautiful outfit, Michele! You must share a picture of your wearing it at the tea! : ) Funny you mention hats, I was trying on a couple I have this week, because I want to go to the Springfield Antique Mart Extravaganza next month. I figure I will be walking around in the sun so a hat might be a good idea. I think I might dress up the one I've decided on with a flower and some ribbon. We were thinking of going to the Derby this year since we are not that far away, but decided to hold off and go next year. I think it would be fun to go at least once and experience it! Plus, I want one of those fancy shmancy hats!
ReplyDeleteWith hat and gloves these days, you probably stand out wherever you go. I love hats, but I do not look great in them. Hope you have a lovely time - it looks like the table decorations will be a treat!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous outfit! Perfect! Thanks for sharing. Cheers SpecialK XoXo
ReplyDeleteMichele, your pink floral outfit is lovely. You will look fabulous with the hat and gloves accessorizing it. It is nice that you have your own style and feel comfortable with it. I have always been that way too concerning fashion. I look back at pictures of me as a young teen and wonder how I had the nerve to wear some of the clothes that I loved then. I really like your crocheted gloves. They look so girly. Hope you have a fun time!-------- Shannon

Simply beautiful! The gloves are so pretty. We all need more reasons to dress up lovely. I hope it turns out better than you could have expected.
ReplyDeleteI'm the only gentleman commenting here, but having been raised by dignified parents, I must say that I agree with feeling more myself in my high tea, evening dinner, and church clothing than in a t-shirt and grubby jeans. Long ago my parents taught me that it is always best to wear the best you can regardless of day of the week. With less than dignified clothing worn only when it is absolutely necessary. When my wife takes me to high tea, I always dressed in a manner not to offend. I like wearing my best church suits to events such as these. Yes, some gentlemen care very much about their appearance. If you're wearing hats and gloves, I'm wearing my finest quality church suit. I'm years late, but I hope it surpassed your expectations and every single detail came into place. The photos I see look nothing less than perfect.
