Here I have set out places for six. Each place setting is paired with a dark green charger, an extra large paper doilie to break up the green and bring some softness to the setting, a dark green pottery plate, a plain daily use white Pottery Barn medium sized plate, and a green floral Gracie salad plate.
Off to the side are old green Depression sorbet dessert glasses for the grand finale desssert. The gold eating utensils are by Dalia of Spain.
Simple Battenburg linen napkins will be used - shown wrapped in a cut glass water goblet.
This year I plan on using my friend Nann's recipe for potato soup in these sweet green cut glass teacups with a homemade shamrock cracker on the side on the saucer. For my tutorial on how to make those crackers see this old post.
I will use a dark green with ivy 3 tier server and a shamrock teapot and shamrock china sugar and creamers on both ends of the table for easier service to my guests.
I have lots of shamrock china. I have been collecting it for a very long time. Shamrocks were a big thing in my family. My father's business even used a shamrock for its logo. I was pretty much reared with a strong affection for Anything Shamrock.
Sometimes when there's a smaller group I just bring the dessert finale out on a shamrock tray. My dessert finale this year will be mint chocolate chip ice cream with a mint Girl Scout cookie stuck in the ice cream with melted dark chocolate drizzle for pazazz. <wow that's a lot of Zs!
The favors are a few Irish Breakfast Tea packets in a cute green shamrock box for my guests. I am not much of a fan for bagged tea, but these were just too cute not to use.

ReplyDeleteOur tables are so similar...I have lots of green depression glass, although the ones I used in today's tablescape are reproduction. The real ones come out on March 17th. LOL
Do be careful putting hot soup into your depression glass cups. An antique dealer just told me last week about how he cracked several of his depression glass plates by serving HOT food on them. We both wanted to cry over the loss.
